Plumbing Tips

Make a Plan for regular maintenance!

Have a preventive maintenance schedule set up for your home or commercial property.  Set up an appointment with your plumber every year to check your main water meter, toilets, sinks, hot water heaters, pumps and sewer lines.
Changing out parts before they break can save you down time and emergency after hour labor charges!

Keep it "plumbing" simple and local !

Major retailers from around the world are opening up locations locally in the states with state of the art faucets, sinks and cabinets.  They look impressive but how do they hold up in the long run? Are parts available in your local store? Does you plumber have parts on his truck for the new cool fixtures you purchased?  If you don't know, it may cost more in the long run and lifetime of the toilet, sink or tankless heater!  Stick with local brands to assure you can find parts in the future.

Estimates free or not ?

Customers are surprised when a contractor asks for payment before they even meet them and are confused about why they have to pay an estimate fee for looking at work?  Don't they want to work?  Of course we do!
However, often customers are not sure if they are even going to hire anyone or find the price too high, or sometimes they need estimates for loans and insurance reports.
We always want to provide the best service possible, and when we are performing estimates on small projects under $500, it takes a lot of time away from customers who have approved work and need to get it done quickly. Every company has they policy in place for a good reason and it will be up to the customer to decide!

Why are After Hours Emergency So Expensive?

A homeowner starts to panic when a toilet overflows into the hallway in the middle of the night or restaurants lose hot water during a high traffic time.  They begin the search for a plumber and make appointments.  The best plumbers usually have a full load during the day, 40-50 hours a week is usually a regular week, and to get a good plumber to an emergency is no easy task and it takes a good hourly rate to motivate a good plumber to an after hours emergency.  Having a plumber on call also works good, however, they have very inconsistent jobs and again, it is all about getting the plumber interested in a clogged toilet on a Saturday night when they can be with there family.
